City of Vienna honours Andreas Richter for scientific achievements

Andreas Richter, head of CMESS, receives a 2022 City of Vienna Award for outstanding achievements in science. According to the city's decision, he has ‘made a significant contribution to the excellent reputation of environmental research in Vienna with his innovative research approaches in climate change research and soil microbiology’. Veronica Kaup-Hasler, Vienna's Executive City Councillor for Cultural Affairs and Science, considers the award above all to be a recognition and visualisation of valuable work.

The city of Vienna awards people from science and culture in a total of nine categories. Andreas Richter receives the prize in the field of “Mathematics, Informatics, Natural Sciences, Technology”. The award ceremony will take place on May 15th 2023 in the ballroom of the Vienna City Hall.
